In some good news, Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka was back on Säbener Straße earlier today doing some individual training.

Per Bild, Goretzka hit the weights (shocker!) and then did some jogging:

For the first time after his positive Corona test on January 27, the Bayern star trained again on Säbener Strasse in Munich. BILD caught Goretzka on Thursday afternoon in running shoes at the training ground. First the international worked in the weight room, then he jogged around the field alone for half an hour — thickly wrapped up with a hat, gloves, and scarf.

Goretzka’s return to the squad would be welcome as Thomas Müller became the latest Bayern Munich player to test positive for COVID-19 earlier today.

Goretzka was not the only player seen on the training grounds, though. Alexander Nübel was working on his rehab in the weight room as well according to Bild. Javi Martinez, however, was still missing-in-action:

Keeper Alexander Nübel (24 / ankle injury) was also at Säbener Strasse, doing his rehab program in the weight room. From Javi Martinez (32) was again not seen.

It is possible that Martinez was there and just not seen — or he could be on an extended leave. Regardless, Hansi Flick will be glad to hear that he is closer to getting Goretzka and Nübel back in the squad.
