Once again, Bayern Munich have proven their mettle against the world’s best and have come out on top. The team has clinched their second FIFA Club World Cup title in team history after defeating CONCACAF champions Tigres UANL in a close fought 1-0 game.
We have a lot to discuss on this episode of the podcast:
Final score: Bayern Munich 1-0 Tigres UANL
- Bayern came into this game missing three key players, one of which should have been the very reason why this game should not have been played at all.
- Purely looking at the stats will not show what this game really was: a close battle from beginning to the end
- The buildup to the game winning goal has a lot of controversy, including a close offside decision and a potentially blown handball from the video assistant referee.
- At the end of it all, Bayern walks away with their sixth title in six attempts.
