The Bayern Munich midfield tandem of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka does some excellent work together on the pitch, but the duo is becoming just as recognized for their efforts off the field these days.

Kimmich and Goretzka’s #WeKickCorona campaign became wildly successful and has earned the twosome quite a few awards so far. Now, the Germany international stars were awarded the Fair Play Prize for 2020 in German sports.

#WeKickCorona collected donations and distributed them to charitable associations and social institutions. The benefactors of #WeKickCorona ranged from food banks to hospitals and medical centers to other miscellaneous causes. At a time where the world needed leaders to step up and help out the less fortunate, Kimmich and Goretzka did just that.

According to Abendzeitung, the Fair Play Prize of German Sports is awarded annually by the DOSB and the Association of German Sports Journalists. The aim is to honor actions, gestures, or initiatives that are particularly characterized by fair play.

Congrats to Kimmich and Goretzka on yet another well-deserved accomplishment.
