Bayern Munich are back in Bundesliga action, and only three more games separate the Bavarians from the unofficial title of Herbstmeister or “Winter Champions” — the team that is top of the table after the first half of the season.
The first team coming up is 1. FSV Mainz 05, who might be the strongest of the remaining teams left. Under Bo Svensson, they have gotten off to their best ever start to a Bundesliga season, and even seem to be fighting for a Europa League spot, which is insane. Nagelsmann will be without his first-choice midfield of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, which makes things even harder for him. A win here is far from guaranteed.
