Report: FC Barcelona Xavi peeled paint off the walls in locker room during Bayern Munich debacle

One thing is clear, FC Barcelona needs some roster changes.

According to a report from Sport, FC Barcelona laid into his squad during halftime of the team’s (most) recent Champions League embarrassment at the hands of Bayern Munich.

Xavi is alleged to have challenged the mentality of his squad and blistered them in the locker room:

At the end of the first half, Xavi did not hesitate to raise his tone of voice to convey his major dissatisfaction with what he was seeing. “Some of you don’t understand what it means to play for Barça,” he said.

After the match, however, Xavi opted for a less harsh tone and was said to only use a brief, yet “forceful”, message to the squad:

Once the stake was over, Xavi opted for a less impulsive stance. He hardly addressed the players with a short but forceful message, at a decibel level much lower than that shown during the break . His face said it all. The anger was monumental. The anger of the middle part gave way to the post-game funeral. No player wanted to raise his voice. Just silence.

FC Barcelona will try to redeem itself on Sunday against Osasuna.
