Armindo Sieb scored the winner for Bayern Munich II to lead them 2-1 over SV Heimstetten. Bayern II have never lost to Heimstetten. After ten games, Bayern II have won eight of them with the other two ending in a draw.

Match Highlights

Chris Scott scored his first goal since August 17 in the 28th minute to put Bayern II no top. In a terrible start to the second half, Moritz Hannemann scored in the 46th minute for the equalizer in a near-exact replica of Scott’s goal in the first half.

In the 59th minute, Sieb headed home a Maximilian Welzmüller cross for the winning goal.

Squad

Pre-match, Bayern were already going to be without Johannes Schenk, Jakob Mayer, Jahn Herrmann, Moritz Mosandl, and Lukas Schneller due to long-term injuries. On game day, Bayern II had to rest Gabriel Vidovic and Torben Rhein due to colds and Malik Tillman due to an injury.

Manuel Kainz (19 years old) was back in goal with Timon Dressel (17 years old) on the bench allowing Tom Hülsmann (17 years old) to go back to the U-19s for this weekend’s DFB Pokal Juniors. Due to injuries, Bayern II’s goalkeeping corps is even younger than normal.

Lucas Copado was back in the starting lineup for Bayern II as well.

Bayern XI: Kainz - Brückner (76. Fust), Feldhahn, Arrey-Mbi, Lawrence, Booth (90+1. Metu)- Welzmüller, Scott, Batista-Meier (88. Motika) - Sieb (85. Aitamer), Copado (64. Kern)

Table and Next Match

The win puts Bayern II one point up in the table over SpVgg Bayreuth; however, Bayern II have played one additional match. This is because Bayern II won’t play games during the international break due to the number of youth internationals that leave the club to join their nations.

Bayern II’s next match will be on November 20 when they play Eichstätt. By the time that match takes place, Bayreuth will have played their match in hand, and they’ll be level in number of games played.
