Rumors linking Bayern Munich’s Niklas Süle to Newcastle United have been making headlines in the last few days. SportBild’s Christian Falk most recently branded the rumors “true” as talks between the player’s management and the Premiership side were believed to have taken place.

Although putting an end to all the noise regarding the same, Süle’s agent Volker Struth has confirmed that there has been no contact with Newcastle United – or any other club, for that matter – yet. So, “false”?

Florian Plettenberg shared bits from his conversation with Struth on the Friday edition of the MeineBayernWoche podcast on Twitter. Struth commented on what lies ahead for the central defender in the coming weeks. He said, “Of course, we have to get into a decision-making process now. There’s no final decision yet. Everything is open. Will he extend? Niklas has to decide that. My job is to get information and give it to the player. Talks are needed for information and they will take place in the next few weeks. Niklas will tell us what he wants and if the talks fell through, we will have to talk to other clubs at some point. It was the same with Toni Kroos back then.”

Struth explained that the Newcastle rumors could only be translated as the by-product of the Saudi takeover. “No, there were no talks [with Newcastle]. And regarding Newcastle United, an investor took over there that allegedly makes them the richest club in the world, so there will be rumors every week. Now it’s Süle, soon maybe Coman or even Haaland”, said the agent.
