A few weeks ago there were rumors circulating that Newcastle United had interest in Bayern Munch defender Niklas Süle.
While that noise deafened a bit, the volume just got cranked right back up per Sport Bild’s Christian Falk. According to Falk, Süle — who has been rumored to want a move to England — is mutually interested in a transfer to the newly rich English club.
Given their new status as a potential European power, Süle is now said to be considering a move to The Magpies:
TRUE ✅ There were talks between @NUFC and the Management of Niklas Süle (@FCBayern) three weeks ago. The defender is interested in the project of Newcastle @SPORTBILD pic.twitter.com/tNTNufkvVk

Süle is in the midst of a fantastic campaign for Bayern Munch, but his contract ends in 2022. The defender is big, fast, physical, and technically-skilled — a perfect profile for a modern day center-back.
While Newcastle United is certainly not going to be the only club interested in Süle, the big man’s potential departure from Bayern Munich would represent a big failure in planning. To let such a valuable asset leave for free would be a big loss to the team — on the field and in the club’s bank account.
