Knockout Round of UEFA Champions League, here we come! With an exhilarating 5-2 domination of S.L. Benfica on matchday 4, FC Bayern Munich is one of two teams to become the first qualifiers for the Round of 16, with Italian giant Juventus the other qualifying squad.

And in true flare and style, Bayern made their statement that their embarrassing 5-0 DFB Pokal failure was not indicative of their European form, netting an incredible hat trick from should-be Ballon d’Or winner Robert Lewandowski on his record-breaking 100th Champions League appearance for FC Bayern Munich.

While defensive woes are still here and there, overall Bayern played an excellent match. The next two matches will be all about squad rotation as well as maintaining their current form. Obviously, it will be a while until we know about who FC Bayern will play in the Round of 16, but it should go without saying that Bayern should be odds-on favorite to winners of the competition for the second time in three years.
