Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann would like to see his backline sure things up moving forward.
“We’ve often allowed a lot of chances, it’s still too easy. Manu has often held up well there. Union could often play into our half without pressure, could cross. It’s about the last steps, about activity, about wanting to fight duels,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by Tz). “We’ve managed that better in many phases of the season. Against Union, five minutes before the break, we weren’t active. Also, after the break we were incredibly deep.”
One player who Nagelsmann has high hopes for is Alphonso Davies.
“He is an extremely fun-loving person who sings a lot and laughs a lot,” said Nagelsmann. “He is a kind-hearted person, has incredible dynamism. He is far from the end of his development. He will surely become one of the best left offensive defenders in the world.”
Davies is working through a minor injury and could be a game time decision against Benfica.
