Injury Report: Bayern Munich looking healthy heading into Benfica tilt

Is Bayern Munich having some luck with injuries?

In what might seem like an odd stroke of luck to injury gods truthers, Bayern Munich is nearly completely healthy heading into its Champions League match against Benfica.

The only outstanding issue — per Twitter account @iMiaSanMia — is back-up striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Every...other...Bayern Munich player was a participant in training this morning.

As a bonus, Michael Cuisance did not even injure anyone! Everything is coming up Bayern Munich right now.

Almost.

The Bavarians are still going to be awaiting word on manager Julian Nagelsmann until tomorrow morning. Nagelsmann will need to be symptom-free and pass a PCR test to be eligible to coach tomorrow against the Portuguese powerhouse.

The absence of Choupo-Moting was expected after the productive reserve was injured last week during training.

Lucas Hernandez and Leon Goretzka were at least in question due to knocks picked up last week, but it seems that both player are ready to go.

At his press conference, Nagelsmann address the injury situation and added that Alphonso Davies — despite practice — is working through a slight issue.

“Phonsie (Davies) still has a few muscular issues. We’ll decide tomorrow (if Davies will play). Saturday is also an important game. We’re considering giving some regular starters a break,” Nagelsmann said (as captured by Tz). “Leon Goretzka had a injury in his heel that is no longer an issue. Lucas Hernández suffered a knock, so we have to be a bit careful. I assume that both will be available tomorrow.”
