Real Madrid’s David Alaba left Bayern Munich after a storied run at the German club, but that does not mean he has completely stopped following the Bavarians.

Alaba has been watching from afar and can see that this season’s squad is excellent.

“As always, they’re incredibly strong. You can already see Julian Nagelsmann’s handwriting. That doesn’t surprise me because I know that Bayern do everything for success,” Alaba told kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “We proved that every year during my time there.”

The transfer to Real Madrid seems to suit Alaba and the Austrian has nothing but good things to say about his time in Bavaria.

“It was an unbelievably nice, positive and emotional time that will always remain part of my life,” said Alaba. “I was able to develop as a player and a person. Very nice memories remain.”

Should both clubs continue to succeed in the Champions League, Alaba might get a reunion with some of his old mates to talk over old times.
