According to Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich has not ruled out a pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland.

The Bavarians want to play the long game to see if they have a “realistic” chance to pry Haaland away from their Bundesliga rival.

Plettenberg said on his Meine Bayern-Woche podcast that Bayern Munich is not currently engaged in talks with Pini Zahavi over a contract extension for Robert Lewandowski, as the club wants to weigh its options with a potential move for Haaland.

The big question is, what would happen if Mino Raiola and Haaland give Bayern Munich their desired terms and they are within reason? Would Bayern Munich start to plan a future without the Polish Hitman? Would the club seek to find a way to use both players on the pitch?

One thing is certain, is Bayern Munich does actually have a chance to land Haaland, things are going to get very interesting on what the club does moving forward with its roster.

Haaland has been linked to Real Madrid, Chelsea FC, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus, among others.
