Bayern Munich draw Eintracht Frankfurt in DFB-Pokal Frauen Round of 16

Bayern Munich have been drawn against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Round of 16 of the DFB-Pokal Frauen. It’s definitely one of the matches of the round. Last season, Bayern were dumped out of the semifinals 2-0 by Wolfsburg. Frankfurt were then beaten by Wolfsburg 1-0 in the Final.

There’s a weird quirk in the scheduling of these matches. Bayern will travel to Frankfurt for a game in the Bundesliga on October 17. Then, there’s a two week international break, followed by Bayern hosting Frankfurt in the Pokal on October 30 or 31. Back-to-back games against the same opponent... two weeks apart.

The other big game of the round will see Bayer Leverkusen hosting Hoffenheim.
