Much like he did with Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane, Hansi Flick is working on a plan with Chelsea FC manager Thomas Tuchel to get Timo Werner back headed in the right direction. The former RB Leipzig striker has been improving bit-by-bit, but now his coaches for club and country are looking to expedite the process.
According to a report from Bild (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia), Flick and Werner spoke at-length about how the 25-year-old can be more efficient with his runs, while also ensuring he is putting himself in more effective positions on the pitch.
Flick flew to London to speak to Tuchel personally about how they can work together to get the most out of Werner and get him back to playing to his potential. One thing is abundantly clear — Flick is fully invested into not just competing at the 2022 World Cup, but having his players in their best possible form in hopes of shocking the world.
