Chelsea’s Antonio Rüdiger not thinking about possible Bayern Munich move

The defender won’t let anyone else’s future affect his plans.

Chelsea FC defender Antonio Rüdiger spoke to the press and when asked about the rumors connecting him to Bayern Munich, the 28-year-old

“Of course (Bayern’s interest) honors me and proves that I’ve been doing things right. But I don’t let it distract me. I have an obligation to my club to perform well. I have to prove myself every game and not let myself be distracted by rumors,” said Rüdiger (as captured by SPOX).

One of the pieces of information that has been discussed at length is how Bayern Munich would put its foot on the pedal for a pursuit of Rüdiger if the club cannot agree on a new deal with Niklas Süle. Rüdiger was not amused by that talk.

“I make my decisions for myself. They don’t depend on anyone. I feel good where I am,” Rüdiger said.

In the end, however, Rüdiger said he liked being in Germany, but that playing at Chelsea makes any return a short trip.

“It’s always nice to visit home, especially Berlin, where I grew up. As for playing, that’s up in the air. I feel comfortable where I play. It’s only three and a half hours to Berlin, that’s enough,” said Rüdiger.
