Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl spoke to Sky (as captured by Tz) after his team’s out-and-out beatdown of Bayern Munich and as you can imagine, the 48-year-old was ecstatic over his squad’s big victory in the DFB-Pokal.
“It was a magical Pokal evening that won’t soon be forgotten. I think it was also deserved. We defended very well and actively going forward. We wanted to impress Bayern with that, and we did. And we scored some very nice goals up front. In this game, we see what our team is capable of,” Eberl said.
Gladbach certainly came out buzzing and never looked back. That made Eberl extremely happy.
“We really impressed them. They were at a loss. We played Bayern up against the wall. I have the big goal of being in the final at some point,” Eberl said. “We have come one step closer to this goal. It’s great for the Bundesliga and the Pokal. Bayern can’t win the double.”
