It was thought to be a done deal just a few weeks ago, but the rumored contract extension between Bayern Munich and Serge Gnabry has not materialized.

That does not mean that there is an issue, however.

According to Sport Bild (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia), talks are still going well between Bayern Munich and Gnabry. The Germany international wants to bump his salary from €10 million to €15 million, which seems to be the primary hold up in getting a deal done.

An agreement is still expected, but not any time soon. Aside of having his salary increased, Gnabry feels comfortable in Munich and enjoys playing with one of his best friends Joshua Kimmich.

Gnabry is currently in the mix at wing with Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, and Jamal Musiala. Coman could bolt next summer, but the Bavarians have a stable of good, young wingers on campus and have been linked to players like Karim Adeyemi and Antony, who could also be options on the offensive flank.

Even if something falls through with Gnabry, Bayern Munich seems well-equipped to deal with it.
