It’s DFB Pokal ‘o’ clock, and Bayern Munich to get past Borussia Monchengladbach if they want to progress to the 3rd round. Usually, this would be a formality, given how awful the Foals have been in the league this season — BUT they’ve taken points off Bayern already, and the club will be without coach Julian Nagelsmann for the duration of the tie.
After last season’s debacle against Holstein Kiel, you can be sure that everyone at the club is taking this game very seriously. Assistant coach Dino Toppmoller has been training the lads according to Nagelsmann’s instructions, and the team is in much better form than the last time they faced Gladbach. Still, the Foals tend to surprise Bayern more often than not, which could produce an intriguing tie.
