Bayern Munich’s Dino Toppmöller not letting current success affect his thinking

The interim coach does not want to jump too far ahead of himself.

Bayern Munich assistant coach Dino Toppmöller has done a fantastic job in filling in for Julian Nagelsmann, as he had led the squad to consecutive 4-0 victories over Benfica and Hoffenheim.

If you think Toppmöller is going to let that go to his head, however, you would be wrong.

“For me, the most important thing is to live in the here and now. I’m currently enjoying working at this club and with this coaching staff,” Toppmöller said to kicker (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia). “As long as that is the case, there is no reason for me to think about other things. With my work, I want to contribute my part to the success - that is crucial for me”

The future might offer Toppmöller a larger role elsewhere, but he is happy right where he is at for the time being.

“Of course it’s my ambition and my goal to take over the main responsibility for a team at some point, but I feel right at home in my current role at FC Bayern, and that’s why there’s no reason to want to change anything for now,” Toppmöller said.
