Bayern Munich interim coach Dino Toppmöller was not given an easy task.

After Julian Nagelsmann went down with COVID-19 earlier this week, the assistant coach had to take the reins and guide Bayern Munich through a Champions League match against Benfica and a Bundesliga fixture against Hoffenheim — at a minimum, the stint could be longer.

So far, so good for the 40-year-old, though.

“We won both games 4-0 and continued the good run of the past few weeks - We’ll be happy when Julian comes back. We have to wait and see (when). It depends on his condition and the tests” said Toppmöller (as captured by Twitter account @iMiaSanMia).

Toppmöller was given as assist in his effort to keep everything headed in the proper direction by the return of Kingsley Coman, who has look great in his most recent appearances.

“We all are happy that King (Coman) is back and is performing well. He’s been training well and showing that he wants to be part of the starting 11. He had a great game in Lisbon and confirmed it with his cameo today,” Toppmöller said.
