Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer offers warm gesture to Brazilian fan

Just GOATkeeper things.

The picture says it all. Bayern Munich captain and goalkeeper made a fan’s day after the clash against Benfica.

The 35-year-old’s eye caught the poster of a fan travelling all the way from Brazil and granted her wish to receive his shirt. Many football fans in Brazil saw their respective dreams shatter on home soil watching their team succumb to a 7-1 hammering by Germany in the 2014 World Cup. The recent 2020 Champions League final saw their biggest star Neymar narrowly miss out on the UCL, courtesy, once again, of Neuer and co.

As you can see below, Neuer made the fan’s request come to fruition:

We know football penetrates hearts across the world, but it is still quite difficult to imagine — from a rivalry perspective— a fan from Brazil harboring so much love for a Bayern and a German player and Manuel Neuer on top of that. I think that is what makes this game beautiful. Neuer’s gesture reiterates that fans always come first and their support is what makes all of this possible.
