Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are both feeling good about their respective pursuits of Chelsea FC defender and German national team star Antonio Rüdiger per ESPN:

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are among the top European clubs growing increasingly confident of being able to secure a deal for Antonio Rüdiger as his contract stalemate continues at Chelsea, sources have told ESPN.

Rüdiger, 28, is in the final year of his deal at Stamford Bridge but talks over an extension have reached an impasse. Sources told ESPN that Rüdiger is open to staying and Chelsea are keen on retaining his services but the two parties are some way apart in their valuations of a new deal.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also rumored to be interested in Rüdiger. Salary remains the issue for the German star. Chelsea is offering £150,000 (€178,000) per week, while other clubs are rumored to be willing to pay him over £300,000 (€356,000) per week.

It is widely assumed that Niklas Süle’s future plans will directly affect Bayern Munich’s potential plans with Rüdiger.
