Bayern Munich legend Uli Hoeneß has taken on many worthwhile adversaries on the pitch and in the board room over the years.
Heck, Hoeneß even took on the law (Hint: He fought the law and the law won).
Now, though, Hoeneß is battling a different kind of opponent: Vegans.
Hoeneß, who was co-founder of HoWe Wurstwaren (a sausage company), is tired of being attacked by vegans just because he enjoys some meat.
“The problem is that they are militant. If you criticize them today, they’ll attack you,” Hoeneß said during an interview with Katrin Müller-Hohenstein’s show “Antenne Bayern” (as captured by Tz). “I’ve tried eating vegetarian, but I don’t like the stuff because there’s stuff in it everywhere that wouldn’t be in a Nuremberg Rostbratwurst — namely stabilizers and flavor enhancers.”
At 69-years-old, Hoeneß’s stance on vegan food likely will not change...and he’s okay with that.
“I still accept vegetarian a bit, but vegan not at all, because people only get sick in the long run,” Hoeneß said.
While the vegan way is not for him, I just wonder if he has every tried dessert before dinner?
