According to a report from Sport1, former Bayern Munich midfielder James Rodriguez did not exactly have a stellar debut in Qatar:
James Rodríguez made a debut to be forgotten in Qatar. The former superstar, who played for Real Madrid and FC Bayern among others, is now under contract with Al-Rayyan. And his first appearance in the Qatar Stars League on Sunday went straight to the bottom.
His team suffered a sensitive 3-0 defeat against Lekhwiya — James could not prevent the defeat in a weak first game. Shortly before the end of the game, the 30-year-old was even replaced by coach Laurent Blanc.
Our BFW weather experts performed extensive research and concluded that no, it was not cold in Qatar when this game was played. Rodriguez, of course, infamously complained about the brisk winters in Munich. In fact, the low was 81 degree Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius) and the high was 99 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius).
(Gasps! Clutches pearls)
Anyway, this saga will surely be fun to follow.
