Marcel Sabitzer won’t be a starter, but a valuable complimentary piece at Bayern Munich per Didi Hamann

With a lack of minutes early in his tenure at Bayern Munich, it is tough to see where Marcel Sabitzer is going to fit.

One of the more interesting storylines over the past few weeks at Bayern Munich has been the integration of Marcel Sabitzer into the squad. The Austrian, a heralded transfer from RB Leipzig, has not made a start as of yet and has only seen minimal minutes. To Didi Hamann, this is not a surprise.

Hamann sees Sabitzer as an excellent and versatile depth piece for the Bavarians, but not a player who is going to be able to usurp a starting position.

“If everyone is fit then he probably won’t play, but there’s a lot of games and Bayern did lose some players in the summer. He’s a very reliable player, he’s versatile and can play in a lot of positions,” Hamann told FreeSuperTips as made exclusively available to Bavarian Football Works.

While Sabitzer might not be able to break into the starting XI, Hamann thinks the addition of Sabizter helps make the Bavarians as good as team in Europe.

“Robert Pires came out and said he hasn’t seen a more consistent and solid team as Bayern Munich at the moment which I’d have to agree with,” said Hamann. “They look very good under Nagelsmann and when it comes to the business end of the Champions League, I think Bayern Munich will be there.”

Sabitzer has played just 106 minutes in five appearance so far for Bayern Munich.
