Bayern Munich midfielder Marcel Sabitzer might be new to the club, but the 27-year-old transfer from RB Leipzig completely understands the expectations that nearly everyone has for the Bavarians.

That “win at all costs” mindset is something the Austria international has ingrained in himself and has made embracing the challenge at Bayern Munich a bit easier.

“If you don’t win anything here, the storm clouds gather very quickly,” Sabitzer recently told FCBayern.com. “Everyone wants to avoid that. I can sympathize very well with this mentality, though.”

Sabitzer has appeared in six games for Bayern Munich so far, but has only amassed 121 minutes total during those matches. Some of the key storylines for Julian Nagelsmann in the coming months will be how he can integrate Sabitzer into the squad better, when and where to rotate his mileage heavy midfield, and how to extract the best out of a player like Sabitzer when he is seldom used.
