So the international break is over and Bayern Munich are back in action. With Bayer Leverkusen being arguably the most in-form team in the Bundesliga at the moment (and level with Bayern on points), Julian Nagelsmann yet again faces a huge test ahead of a midweek Champions League game.
While Bayern have no big injuries coming into this game, plenty of key players will be fatigued due to their international commitments. Pretty much the entire German contingent, most of the French contingent, and key starters like Alphonso Davies and Robert Lewandowski all played significant minutes for their country over these last few weeks. As always, Nagelsmann will have to maintain a careful balance between minutes and intensity — let’s see how he does.
