Just when you thought you were out of rumors linking Bayern Munich star striker Robert Lewandowski to Real Madrid, some news emerges from Spain to bring you back in — and also give you horrible flashbacks to 2018.
Per AS (as captured by Football Espana), Lewandowski is said to favor a move to Madrid, where he would join notable Bayern Munich alumni like David Alaba, Toni Kroos, and Carlo Ancelotti:
REAL MADRID: Lewandowski prefers Madrid - Polish superstar Robert Lewandowski will ask to leave Bayern Munich with the intention of prioritizing a move to Real Madrid. The current Ballon d’Or favourite is under contract in Bavaria until 2023.
The timing of this latest rumor on Lewandowski is not curious by any means. Earlier in the week, we heard about several causes of the Polish Hitman’s unhappiness. From the lack of a contract extension to the lack of involvement in the team’s offense to the persistent rumors that Bayern Munich is at least looking at other strikers, there are several reasons — in Lewandowski’s mind — for the striker to (allegedly) be annoyed.
The other big news was that Bayern Munich’s brass met to discuss what it would take to bring Haaland to Bavaria. Surely, that did not go over well either....so here we are, once again.
