Report: Newcastle United scoping Bayern Munich’s Niklas Süle

With some newfound riches incoming, Newcastle United might be looking to solidify its defense.

According to Sport Bild’s Christian Falk, Newcastle United might be planning a big splurge — and it could include Bayern Munich defender Niklas Süle being the focal point of its backline.

Newcastle United’s ownership structure is about to change and there is expected to be a huge influx of cash into the club. With Süle being a free agent after this season, the English club can more than afford to bulk up his salary — not only because of the newfound cash in its coffers — but because there would not be any pesky transfer fee for the club to pay.

For Süle, whose appearance in the “WhatsApp” scandal outed his desire for a move to the Premier League, this could be a good landing spot — where he could fill a pool with Scrooge McDuck-type money and dive into it every day after training if he would like.

The Bavarians, however, are expected to make a strong push to keep the talented and physically gifted defender.

Buckle up for this transfer could be a bumpy ride.
