Bayern Munich and Audi have announced that the two are expanding their current partnership to officially bring the women’s team into the fold. Finally.
The Bavarian automaker will have their four ring logo on the sleeves of Bayern Frauen jerseys beginning on Thursday when they face BK Häcken in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Just like the men’s side, the women will wear the Audi logo on the sleeves during DFB Pokal and Champions League matches. During Bundesliga matches, the Frauen will continue to wear the Deutsche Telekom logo on the sleeve.
Andrea Jung, Bayern Marketing Director:
“We are very pleased that Audi is now supporting the entire FC Bayern family as a partner. Overall, women’s football is experiencing strong development, and we are also setting national and international standards with our FC Bayern women as German champions. The partnership sign from Audi to get involved in our women’s soccer team confirms the great development of this department for many years and is clear evidence of the great potential in this area.”
Audi has been a long-time sponsor of Bayern and became a shareholder in the club in 2011. They also have a presence at the FC Bayern Campus where the Frauen and Bayern youth teams play their home matches.
Now, let’s hope that the women get a free Audi car just like the men do!
