In a recent interview, Bayern Munich’s trainer Julian Nagelsmann talked about his future as a coach. At 34-years-old, Nagelsmann says that he cannot see himself coaching still at 50. He spoke to Toni Kroos on the Real Madrid star’s podcast (as reported by Bild.de). When asked where he sees himself in 15 years, Nagelsmann said, “It is possible, that I won’t be a coach anymore. I won’t do it until 70 like Arsene Wenger. That I can promise — I believe.”
So what does the young Bayern coach plan on doing after his career? Perhaps he will go to the mountains. In a past interview, Nagelsmann said that he dreams of traversing the Alps on a mountain bike, including camping under the stars. He noted that he is prepared to take such a journey, but he is only missing one thing at the moment: time.
“I would have the equipment for it — an extremely light expedition tent for two people, a gas stove, and magnesium cutlery. And I have a mini sleeping bag that is great for -10° to 20° C (14° to 68° F). Actually, I have everything that you need — except enough time.”
Obviously, he has put a lot of thought into. Although it seems like Nagelsmann is set for a long career as a coach, maybe it is not too crazy to see him stepping down at some point so that he has more time for his outdoor adventures.
