This was a game that got ugly for Bayern Munich. After seemingly being on top of everything, and going up early, they dug themselves into a hole in the first half and never managed to crawl their way out.
It’s almost an inverse of Bayern’s last five games. Before, they would go down and look terrible in the first 30 minutes before picking it up for the rest of the game. Today, Bayern came out dominant within the first 30 minutes, scoring two goals in six minutes, but then gave the lead away thanks to poor communication and help along the backline.
In a way, it’s almost good this loss happened earlier in the season. Now, Hansi Flick, Brazzo, and the rest of the board are forced to consider and assess the problems on the field and how to solve them. With time closing on the January transfer window, they need to act smart and act fast.
Let’s see if they can get it done:
Final Score: BMG 3:2 FCB
Stats: Bayern
67% possession, 16 shots, 4 SOG, 10 fouls
Stats: BMG
33% possession, 8 shots, 4 SOG, 9 fouls
After Bayern’s second loss of the Bundesliga season, Jake reacts to the defense’s inconsistency and ineptitude, and says this result was coming for the team.
