Tz reporter Manuel Bonke has tweeted out that Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee did not travel with the senior-team to Borussia Mönchengladbach for today’s game. The Dutch youngster has been the subject of numerous transfer rumors as Eintracht Frankfurt, FC Köln, and Feyenoord among others have been linked to the 19-year-old.

Zirkzee, who has been a part of Bayern Munich’s game day squad more often than not this season, stayed back in Munich to train with Bayern Munich II ahead of its derby tomorrow against TSV 1860 Munich:

No surprise: Joshua #Zirkzee did not travel with #FCBayern to Gladbach. Instead, the youngster completed the final training session with the U23 today - and will probably play striker alongside Fiete Arp in the derby against #TSV1860. #BMGFCB

The luster clearly seems to have been taken off of Zirkzee’s status on Säbener Straße.

Regardless, Zirkzee’s expected position next to Arp atop the Bayern Munich II formation should at least provide fans with something to keep an eye on tomorrow. It could be one of Zirkzee’s last appearances for the club for the foreseeable future.
