Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic spoke very candidly about his club’s interest in Bayern Munich’s young striker Joshua Zirkzee on Saturday. Prior to Eintracht’s game against Bayer Leverkusen — which the Adler won 2-1 — Bobic said, “We want to announce a completed deal as soon as possible.”

“Zirkzee is a very good young player,” Bobic continued, “has an incredible amount of potential. Players with this profile are exactly those we are looking for,” Bobic told Sky (AZ).

Eintracht is searching for a striker to replace the roster spot recently vacated by Bas Dost, who just transferred to Club Brugge KV. Eintracht has been an excellent place for young attackers to develop before taking the next step in their careers.

The sticking point between Bayern and Eintracht reportedly centers on the inclusion of a purchase option in a loan deal for Zirkzee — Eintracht wants one for obvious reasons, whereas Bayern does not, for equally obvious reasons.
