The rumor mill sure is turning for Bayern Munich’s David Alaba this weekend.

Late yesterday, Spanish outlet Marca issued a report stating that a move to Real Madrid for Bayern Munich defender David Alaba was “imminent.”

The report went as far as to give financial details on the alleged contract that Alaba would sign with Los Blancos. Sky Sports, however, is throwing cold water all over that news and said that Real Madrid does not have an advantage over any other clubs that are pursuing Alaba — at least as of now:

According to Sky information, however, no serious discussions have taken place and there is definitely no concrete offer from Real. Los Blancos are an option for the Bayern star. Just like FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and clubs from England.

Alaba has been able to negotiate freely with other clubs since January 1, but according to Sky information, discussions have not taken place with any club since then. So far, there has only been an informal exchange between Pini Zahavi and interested clubs.

Anyway, this transfer saga will likely take a few more twists and turns before reaching its conclusion — whatever that might be.
