After an important and hard-fought win today, Bayern Munich extended its lead at the top of the table. Bayern is currently top of the tale and is four points ahead of the second-placed RB Leipzig. The victory for Bayern could play a huge role in boosting the squad’s mentality they’ve been working through a bit of a rut.

The team worked well today and deserved the three points against Freiburg, who wasn’t an easy opponent. After the match, Bayern’s center-back, Jerome Boateng offered his thoughts on the match

As per TZ, Boateng was happy with the ‘working’ win but admits that the team showed weakness at the end of the match: “We were shaky at the end, but we have only ourselves to blame because we had three or four chances in front.”

Some outlets thought that Bayern was beatable today and Boateng said with a big smile on his face: “It’s nice that they thought that. In the end, however, nothing came of it. It only got exciting at the end because we made mistakes.”

When asked about some problems with fatigue, Boateng said that the team doesn’t want excuses, but admits that the whole process is not easy. He also added that his teammate, Leroy Sane, is slowly getting used to the team and that his performances are improving, pointing out that he had a superb game against Freiburg.
