Bayern Munich II bounces back, beats Meppen

Following the big derby loss to 1860 Munich at the weekend, Bayern Munich bounced back with a big 2-0 win over SV Meppen.

Bayern Munich II won their fifth match of the season on Tuesday in a 2-0 victory over SV Meppen. It was a great way to bounce back following the weekend loss in the Munich Derby to 1860.

After a first half in which Bayern II saw the better opportunities but were unable to find the back of the net, things turned in their favor in the second half. Two minutes after coming on as a substitute, Nicolas Kühn bagged the first goal of the game in the 68th minute on an assist from Christopher Scott.

Then, in the 75th minute, Lenn Jastremski fed a great cross into Scott who scored Bayern II’s second goal of the game to put Bayern over the top for the win and all three points.

Bayern XI: Hoffmann - Stanisic, Lawrence, Feldhahn, Richards, Vita (46. Lungwitz) - Stiller, Zaiser (66. Kühn), Scott, Kern (84. Rochelt) - Jastremski

The result bounces Bayern up into 13th place in the table on 20 points. The Bavarians are two points clear of the relegation zone, but it’s pretty hard to fully judge this since teams have played different numbers of games due to COVID postponements.

At the weekend, Bayern II will travel to face Hallescher in the “final match of the first half of the season”. On January 22, Bayern II will face Türkgücü München to truly kick off the second half of the season.
