Bayern Munich II forward Leon Dajaku could soon be departing north to Berlin: according to Bild and Sport1, Union Berlin is interested in signing Dajaku to bolster their roster after efforts to sign other candidates have fallen through.
Dajaku typically plays on the left wing and has scored 3 goals and 1 assist in 14 games for Bayern II. He has played only 29 minutes for the first team this season, in Bayern’s game against FC Düren from the 5th division in the DFB-Pokal.
Head coach Hansi Flick has not given Dajaku a chance at more game time, although the youngster has trained regularly with the pro team. Since he is under contract until 2023, it is likely that Union will seek a loan. Bild speculates that they may even seek a “long-term” loan to bring Dajaku to Berlin.
Sport1 reporter Florian Plettenberg adds that Bayern will not put any obstacles in Dajaku’s way.
Update #Dajaku: Yes (according to Bild): Dajaku forces a loan! Union wants him. The club don’t put any obstacles in his way. Actually he doesn’t play a role in the plans of the 1st team. He has changed his agents in the last couple of months a few times. @SPORT1 #FCBayern
