In a shred of good news on the injury front for Bayern Munich, Serge Gnabry has resumed full training ahead of the second round DFB-Pokal matchup against Holstein Kiel on Wednesday. Gnabry missed out on Bayern’s 3-2 loss at Borussia Monchengladbach due to heavy bruising of the shin that he suffered in the second half of Bayern’s 5-2 win over Mainz at the Allianz Arena.

Per Bild, Gnabry completed the entire training session with the rest of the squad without any complications or concerns. Because of this, he should be in contention to be in the lineup to face Holstein Kiel on Wednesday night, though it will ultimately be up to Hansi Flick whether or not he would want to directly reinsert him into the starting eleven.

Interestingly, Bild also reported that Gnabry spent a decent amount of time towards the beginning of the training session speaking with midfielder Marc Roca after giving him a hug. The Spaniard has found minutes tough to come by this season in Bayern’s midfield, even with the amount of injuries the squad has experienced. It wasn’t too long ago that Flick took extra time after a training session to work 1-on-1 with Roca to work on defensive positioning and 1v1 defending. It’s good to see that his teammates want to help him as well.

Unfortunately, without specifying exactly why, it was also reported that striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting missed out on today's training session. As a result, it’s expected that he probably won’t be in the lineup to face Holstein Kiel, but at the very least, his involvement is now in jeopardy. He last played when he came on as a late sub in Bayern’s 5-2 win over Mainz last weekend.

The timing of this minor setback for Choupo-Moting is less than ideal, as Holstein Kiel could’ve provided an opportunity for him to get some solid minutes if Flick decides to make a few rotations to the squad.
