With a plethora of big-named suitors, Lazar Samardžić had many options to ponder over when deciding on a destination for his next move.
The 18-year-old Germany youth international, however, opted to make the transition to RB Leipzig over Bayern Munich, Juventus, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and others. Samardžić will move on from Hertha Berlin and look to compete for first-team playing time under Julian Nagelsmann.
Per the club’s Twitter account, RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche was ecstatic to bring in a player who is considered one of Germany’s brightest young talents.
“Lazar is one of the best German talents around,” Krösche said. “Although there was interest from abroad, we’ve been able to convince him to come here.”
