Thiago declares “Bayern is my home” (GOAL)

After helping Spain to a 1-1 draw against Jogi Löw’s Germany, Thiago Alcantara spoke to the press briefly. Naturally, the journalists want to hear him declare where he would transfer this summer, but Thiago did not bite.

“‘I’m only thinking about the game against Ukraine. Afterwards, we will see,” he told ZDF. When the reporter asked him, “So Liverpool or Manchester,” Thiago laughed off the question and said, “Ciao!”

The most striking thing he said, however, was in response to a question about whether he could see himself staying in Munich. Thiago said, “Bayern is my home and I am happy to be there.”

Don’t leave and make Big Nik sad, Thiago!

Aaron Hickey chooses Bologna over Bayern (Gianluca DiMarzio)

Despite being linked to Bayern Munich for the past few months, Scottish left-back Aaron Hickey has reportedly decided to sign with Serie A’s Bologna FC. Hickey visited Bologna not long ago and is expected to sign with them on Friday.

According to Gianluca DiMarzio, Hearts will let Hickey move to Bologna on loan with a €2 million buyback option.

Leroy Sané subbed off with cramps in Germany vs Sapin

Head coach Jogi Löw explained Sané’s second-half substitution to the press after the match, expressing frustration that the rule permitting five substitutes was not extended to the Nations League game.

“Leroy had cramps,” Löw said. “You have to see where he’s coming from. He hardly played any games in the past six, seven months, only trained. It was obvious that his strength would then give out.”

Germany does social-distancing
