Newly signed goalkeeper Alexander Nübel was left behind in Munich when Bayern Munich traveled to Sinsheim. Coach Hansi Flick brought only Sven Ulreich as backup keeper to Manuel Neuer. Sport1 reports that that omission “has met with incomprehension on the part of the player and his management.”
Sport1 says Nübel’s camp will ask the front office what their real plan with Nübel is. After the game in Sinsheim, Flick told the media, “We are very, very satisfied with Alex Nübel, with how he presents himself with us.” As for why he brought Ulreich instead of Nübel, Flick said, “He simply knows our philosophy,” while Nübel had participated in “really few training sessions.”
Now the club is supposedly discussing whether it might make sense to send Nübel out on loan after all. Hitherto, the front office has ruled sending Nübel out on loan. There are supposedly plenty of suitors.
The other possibility is that Sven Ulreich might leave the club. Sport1 says that Hasan Salihamidzic regularly communicates with Ulreich’s agent for current news as Ulreich searches for a club. But there have not been any offers for Bayern’s popular and professional second keeper yet. That latest destination to be ruled out: Hertha Berlin.
