It looked like a done deal, but Bayern Munich is not happy with Ajax after they allegedly steered Sergino Dest to FC Barcelona.

With Ajax defender Sergino Dest reportedly on his way to FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich is allegedly fuming at what it considers “dirty tricks” pulled by Ajax during negotiations.

A report from Spanish outlet Sport alleges that Bayern Munich feels “betrayed” and believes that Ajax pushed Dest toward FC Barcelona. Specifically, Bayern Munich felt a deal was done with the player and had also settled for a transfer fee of just under €20 million with Ajax.

Nicht so schnell mein freund.

In the Sport report, it is alleged that Bayern Munich feels Ajax began to “stall”, so FC Barçelona could finish negotiating the sale of Nelson Semedo. With the funds available from Semedo’s sale, Barca would be able to make a formidable deal on-par with Bayern Munich’s offer for Dest.

Aside of the alleged stalling, Bayern Munich’s frustration stems from the club’s ability to pay more for Dest up-front rather than FC Barcelona’s back-loaded offer and also in the belief that Ajax leaked a story stating that Dest preferred a future with FC Barcelona over one in Bavaria.

For his part, Dest is expected to arrive at Camp Nou this week to make everything official.
