After failing to come to an agreement on the transfer fee for Sergino Dest last week, negotiations between Bayern Munich and Ajax Amsterdam reconvened on Monday. According to ad.nl, the two teams are getting closer and closer to coming to terms on the transfer. Although nothing has been completed, an agreement seems imminent after Monday’s discussions.
Dest has been on Bayern’s radar for a few months, and the young American has acknowledged that he would like to play for Bayern. When Thiago’s move to Liverpool was completed, Bayern began actively pursuing Dest. Sources say that personal terms were met last week, and now all that is left is for the two clubs to come to an agreement on the transfer fee. Because Dest is on contract until Summer 2022, Ajax is reportedly asking €20 million. Luckily for Bayern, they received €30 million for the transfer of Thiago. This puts them in a better spot to land Dest than other suitors like Barcelona.
