Claudio Pizarro will join Giovane Elber, Lothar Matthäus, and Bixente Lizarazu in the positions of club ambassador for Bayern Munich. Pizarro, who scored 125 goals for Bayern in 327 appearances, will now help the club to advertise its brand name, traditions, and values across the world.

The Peruvian and former Champions League winner is happy to return to Bayern and his new role: ‘’I am very happy to return to FC Bayern as a club ambassador. It is a dream to be back in Munich. FC Bayern is always described as a family, and that’s exactly how it feels. Now, in my new role, I will once more give everything for this club – just like I used to as a player.”

Bayern Munich finding new roles for former players has become somewhat of a trend. Apart from Bayern’s current ambassadors, Pizarro will reunite with three former teammates who are currently Bayern Munich employers: Oliver Kahn, Miroslav Klose, and Martin Demichelis.
