Bayern Munich used a pair of goals on either side of halftime to surge to a big 4-0 win over Werder Bremen on Sunday to remain unbeaten in the Frauen Bundesliga. Yes, the Bavarians have faced off against the two teams sitting on bottom, but they’ve left no doubt in the results with big victories to show for it.
Viviane Asseyi opened the scoring for Bayern in the 38th minute. Lineth Beerensteyn fed the ball into the box to Linda Dallmann, who continued her run to the end line. She cut the ball back to Asseyi who was all alone in front of goal and only needed to tap it in to give Bayern the lead.
Dallmann made it 2-0 just two minutes later. Carolin Simon played the ball to her in the box, and Dallmann found herself all alone. With nobody near her, Dallmann took a touch and ripped a shot inside the near post.

Bayern’s third goal came in the 53rd minute. Asseyi got the play started with a flick into space for Sydney Lohmann who out-muscled the defender and sprinted into the box drawing more defenders. Then, she passed it to Amanda Ilestedt who found the back of the net.
Lohmann capped her day with Bayern’s fourth goal of the match in the 63rd minute. Simon crossed the ball into the box, and while it bounced around following an initial deflection, Lohmann smashed it into the back of the net for her goal.
Bayern XI: Benkarth - Demann (75. Wenninger), Simon, Hegering, Ilestedt, Gwinn (59. Zadrazil), Lohmann (75. Boye Sørensen), Beerensteyn (75. Corley), Magull (59. Laudehr), Asseyi, Dallmann

Their next Frauen Bundesliga game is on September 26th against Freiburg. Next up, however, is the international break.
