Thiago Alcantara must have it in for Bild and their chief Bayern Munich reporter Christian Falk. Two days after the tabloid claimed that Thiago would enjoy an additional week of vacation, ostensibly because of an imminent transfer out, he was back in team training at Säbener Strasse. Perhaps leading with the headline “Why is Thiago lying?” was not the smartest idea after Thiago explicitly told the press that he never told anyone at Bayern that he was leaving.
Pictures, at any rate, do not lie. Thiago tweeted a snapshot of himself at training, happy to be back playing:

Since the transfer window remains open for another month, it is still too early to say whether Thiago might stay in Munich after all, but it certainly seems less likely that he will leave for Liverpool FC. Jürgen Klopp has recently emphasized his club’s limited resources in comparison to de facto state-owned operations like Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain and oligarchic plaything Chelsea (e.g. The Sun).
That stance seems to be borne out by Liverpool’s reluctance to spend big this window, whether on Timo Werner, who ultimately went to Chelsea, or apparently Thiago.
