It looks as though we are reaching a conclusion to the drawn-out Thiago transfer saga. Thiago, father of two, and his wife Julia were seen on vacation in Barcelona on Tuesday.
Bayern Munich had initially stated that a few players used in the Nations League would be permitted to skip training. However, both Niklas Süle and Leroy Sané have already arrived back in Munich in time for training, so it would seem that Thiago’s special vacation has only one purpose. This could be the week where Thiago decides on his future with the club.
According to BILD, Thiago has already agreed to personal terms with Liverpool, but the clubs have not reached an agreement over the transfer fee. Bayern is still keen on €30 million, but Liverpool is clearly not willing to budge that easily. However, this week will provide all parties the best opportunity to get this deal done. This could be the end to the Thiago transfer fiasco as we know it.
It seems as though this story has been going on forever, but hopefully Thiago ultimately makes the decision that is right for himself and his family.
