Real Madrid want Kingsley Coman (Don Balon)
The Don seems to be running out of material, because I could’ve sworn I’ve seen this rumor before. According to Europe’s premier source of football news, Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is unsettled by the arrival of Leroy Sane, and is looking for a move abroad. The chief suitor would be Spanish champions Real Madrid, who presumably need someone to replace guys like Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, and Eden Hazard, who don’t do much for the squad.
A price of 65m euros is mentioned in the article, which was probably pulled from thin air. That’s more than what Bayern paid for Leroy Sane, so it would be surprising if Real coughed up that much for someone who isn’t as good. Of course, Don Balon stories have their worth measured in their outlandishness, so this one gets a solid B+ in my view. Suitably improbable, but somewhat lacking in creativity.
Inter Milan want to swap Marcelo Brozovic for Corentin Tolisso (Sportske Novosti)
According to Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti, Inter Milan will meet with the Bayern bosses during their stay in Germany to discuss a potential swap deal for Marcelo Brozovic and Corentin Tolisso. Inter are asking for €20m + the Frenchman, which seems like a steep price if you rate Tolisso anywhere around €35m. Is Brozovic really worth that much?
Of course, Tolisso has been linked with a move away from Bayern for some time now, so the deal might just end up happening. But it’s doubtful whether the bosses would pay so much for the 27-year-old Brozovic, when the team already has so many midfielders on the roster. If Thiago Alcantara does end up leaving, the prospect of getting Brozovic does become more palatable — but then again, so does the prospect of Tolisso staying.
Let’s see if these rumored discussions end up happening.
Philippe Coutinho gets closer to Arsenal move (Sport)
As Barcelona scramble to offload talent, Kia Joorabchian comes to their rescue. The Iranian super-agent is working to move his client Philippe Coutinho to Arsenal, who are also in the middle of cost-cutting.
How the Gunners will afford Coutinho’s massive salary is up for debate, as they’re also paying Mesut Ozil something like £350k a week, and are looking to give Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a new contract worth £300k a week. Of course, they can just keep firing people until they make the cut.
Arsenal players intend to speak with the club about the decision to make 55 members of staff redundant.

There is considerable frustration among the squad having taken a pay cut to prevent this scenario.
